Chichester and Fishbourne Croquet Club
We are a small, friendly club with 2 lawns set within
The Fishbourne Centre grounds. Casual visitors from other clubs or with some experience of Golf croquet are welcome to join us on Club afternoons but please contact us beforehand. If you are a beginner please
contact Peter Raper to arrange a taster session.
Although most of our members play Golf Croquet we do have an enthusiastic group of Association players who are always keen to introduce new members to this complex and challenging game.
We also hold an annual Fun Tournament playing a peculiar variation of croquet proposed in 2010 by former Chairman, Brian Shipman, the Fishbourne Game. You can find out more about it here.
Membership and Fees
Your first visit to the club is free of charge and we have a selection of mallets available for use.
A first “have a go” visit is free of charge. Further visits on club afternoons are available at £5 per session,
Regular visitors are encouraged to join the club and membership is on a sliding scale – £110 if joining in April/May and then reducing by £15 per month, so joining in June costs £95, July £80 and so on.
Fixtures for 2018
We play regular friendly matches with other clubs in the area, both home and away as well as competing in the
SECF Handicap Golf League West and holding a number of Club tournaments throughout the summer.
The fixture dates are available on our Google based Diary Page
Corporate and Social Days
Croquet is a great team building activity and great fun for all even if you have no knowledge of the game. We have hosted team building days for local companies, social events for various local groups, croquet parties for birthdays and regularly take part in a 6th form induction day for Portsmouth Grammar School students. If you are looking for an unusual activity for either a corporate or social event, please
contact us to discuss what we can offer.
